+The shell hadn't been that hard to find. The children hadn't moved far since he saw them last – in Saturn Valley, where the Absolutely Safe Capsule was. Someone had mentioned that they had been seriously injured in the incident and had been taken to the hospital, then moved to Threed. Gyiiyg checked the spot where the Capsule had been but it had also been moved since then. The wrongness in the air was gone too, the taint of Giygas, along with the distortion in the music. Threed was a small town and a psychic who could teleport had no trouble scouring it for one person. They were outside the hotel. Both Tom and Martha looked like they had recovered now – in fact, Tom looked significantly stronger. Martha was as vigilant as ever. Gyiiyg realised that he didn't have a plan as to how he was going to get the pram off her. Violence was out of the question if those two really were integral to the fate of the Universe. He considered possession – the girl was a complete psychic null apart from her Prayer ability, so she would have no way of defending herself, but there was a risk that Tom would work out what was happening and attack him. He doubted that the stealth field on his smartsuit worked properly after all the damage he had taken. He could use illusions on himself to make himself harder to see – it wasn't really his speciality but he could do so to an extent to fool a couple of human children.
 +
+As he watched the two children walk down the street, looking around  apprehensively, they met up with an older human in a black hat and coat with a long beard. He was being accompanied by a small crowd of around fifty large humanoids in similar hats and coats that concealed their bulky forms. Gyiiyg could tell from their psychic signatures they were not human. They were something more like machines. The two children looked surprised – Martha looked as if she was about to run screaming in terror, while Tom was  excited and began asking the older human a million and one questions, poking and prodding the humanoids.
 +
+They waited until midnight – Gyiiyg supposed that it would be difficult for the entire fifty humanoids to walk the streets without arousing suspicion during the day – then walked to the hotel. Their leader knocked on the door. After a moment's wait, a head poked out of the door. It had the mental reading of a psychically unskilled human but its life signature felt wrong. It saw the humanoids and started becoming flustered, yelling and pointing at them. The adult human tried to pacify him but it wasn't working. After a few minute's increasingly loud yelling, the undead human ran back inside, still yelling. Within seconds, zombies in tuxedos and fedoras were pouring out of the hotel and adjacent buildings, all armed, mostly with semi-automatic firearms that Gyiiyg thought were rather primitive.  Still yelling and waving his arms, the older human pointed to Tom and Martha. Half of the humanoids surrounded them in a circle, protecting them. The other half advanced upon the zombies. The man stood in the middle, apoplectic with Biblical fury, waving his arms around as if conducting an orchestra. Gyiiyg couldn't hear the words from his hiding place on the roof, but he understood 'traitor!', 'stupid bitch!' and '...photographs were valuable!'.
 +
+One of the zombie's guns went off, spraying the humanoid with bullets and sending up a cloud of grey dust. Its coat completely ruined, it was revealed to be made out of clay. Gyiiyg blinked. Of all the humanoids he had encountered on various planets throughout his military career, he had never heard of one made of clay. Apart from a couple of holes and a chipped shoulder, the humanoid looked unharmed. It was, however, angry. Bellowing 'MUONNNN!', it launched itself at the zombie who had attacked it. The battle had begun.
 +
+This was his opening, realised Gyiiyg. Battles caused pandemonium. Unless your army was being conducted by the greatest General ever to live, some things got forgotten about, it was impossible to monitor every little factor once combat had actually begun. Unless the battle was actually being fought over the pram – so far, Gyiiyg had witnessed no attempt to capture it, nobody was even looking at it in their attempts to tear each other apart – they would take their eyes off it, even for a moment, and that was Gyiiyg's chance to steal it.
 +
+Fixing his slit eyes upon the pram, he watched the battle rage. The Golems were outnumbered but were clearly winning. Despite being slow and restricted by having to protect three non-combatants, they were almost impossible to take down, especially with guns. They were an unstoppable force of nature, barrelling through every attack, grabbing the zombies and literally tearing them limb from limb, crushing skulls under their massive clay fists, their war cry rumbling like an earthquake. The zombies were fairly hard to kill too – being undead, they felt no pain and could not actually die, only be destroyed, rendered incapable of attacking further. They tended to get up from attacks that should have killed them unless both their legs had been ripped off. Gyiiyg also noticed that their numbers were not really decreasing – they must have summoned reinforcements from somewhere, possibly the countryside – he had seen at least one zombie community there on his last visit to Earth. He could also hear police sirens.
 +
+The children were not coping well with the fighting. Martha looked terrified. She still clung to her brother, determined to protect him, using her umbrella as a shield between them and the outside world. She had taken both hands off the pram. Gyiiyg's eyes narrowed. Using his tail as a spring, he jumped down from his hiding place. He used an Omega-level PK Hypnosis spell around himself so that anyone looking at him would have their vision distorted.  Not that anyone was interested in him – a wave of zombies had broken through the front rank, finally managing to take down one of the Golems, and were making a dash for the honour guard. He heard Martha scream as he ran along the concrete, idly immolating two zombies with PK Flash Omega, shooting another in the head with his laser pistol and running underneath the legs of the nearest distracted Golem. He could see the pram from here. Then he heard Martha's scream and a growl of rage from Tom.
 +
+“PEE KAY INTRO OMEGA!” yelled Tom.
 +
+PK Intro? Who called their ultimate inner power that embodied their identity 'intro'? Realising he was speculating on unnecessary things in the middle of the battle, Gyiiyg dove out of the way as a Golem randomly decided to try and stave in his head. Then the world exploded in rainbow death.
 +
+The waves of  rainbow energy washed over the battlefield, crashing into anything in their path with the force of a tornado. For a second, Gyiiyg saw in his mind the words 'Hi, I'm Tom Garrickson' inside the storm, flashing on and off in the Terminal font. Then the zombie about to leap on him exploded. He rolled underneath the nearest Golem. They were large enough to shield and, besides, didn't seem to be the target of the attack – maybe the boy had just targeted 'anything attacking me' or 'the enemy' – the Golems were all bent on protecting him. The human in charge of the Golems, however, was hit. Not full on, as there had been five Golems between him and the technique, but he was still thrown across the battlefield to lie in a bloody heap.
 +
+Gyiiyg grabbed the rails of the pram. A Golem spotted him and swiped at him. It forced him backwards but also knocked over the pram. Martha gasped and looked around but it was already too late. The shell had rolled out of its holding place. Gyiiyg lashed out with his tail, wrapping it around the small pink object, then teleported away.
 +
+Before Martha could react, she noticed that Tom wasn't behind her any more. He was running across the battlefield. The Golems were already moving to protect him. Broken by the unexpected display of psychic power, the zombies were now in full retreat, so there were few attacks on him anyway. Tom ran over to the fallen old man and threw himself into his arms.
 +
+“PEE KAY LIFEUP BETA!” he yelled. A warm glow surrounded them both and Leder's wounds started disappearing. It hadn't healed him completely, though.
 +
+“I'm sorry, Mr. Leder, I still don't have much psychic energy. I've used it all up.” said Tom, “I'll heal you again when we get  home, okay?”
 +
+“Its okay, boy.” said Leder, “I don't deserve your kindness.”
 +
 +“But you're on my side!”
 +
+“Then why do you think your technique targeted me?”
 +
 +“But those clay guys...”
 +
+“I was only using them to complete the deal. If the zombies hadn't gone back on their word...” he coughed up blood, “We can't sit here and talk! They're retreating! You have to capture one of their generals! Then we can find out where the Lifenoodle factory is!”
 +
 +“I can't fight a war! I'm a kid!”
 +
+“The Golems will obey you! Hurry! I can't move...”
 +
+“You five! Yeah, you!” he pointed to the five Golems closest to him, “Protect Mr. Leder until I get back. Right... the rest of you... well, I guess this can't be THAT different to a computer game... LET'S GO FIND THAT FLAG!”
